Dear Eugene,

I am a concerned citizen & I am compelled to draw your attention to a serious issue in hopes that you will be interested in intervening:
On September 13 2011, Steven Woods (31) is scheduled to be executed by lethal injection by the state of Texas after being wrongfully convicted and confined 24 hours a day for the past 9 years of his life.
Woods maintained his innocence since he was arrested, and he swears that he will keep doing so until he dies. I feel obligated to notify you of this awful injustice and kindly ask that you inform anyone who can possibly help prevent the death of an innocent man.
The USA should not turn its back on it's citizens' rights as they suffer in confinement for a decade, while paying for someone elses crimes. The evidence supporting Steven Woods' wrongful conviction is overwhelming; provided below is more information that I hope will help you better understand Woods' case:

- In 2002, Steven Woods was convicted for shooting & killing a young couple in Denton County, Texas
- Woods was 21 at the time and had no prior arrests or warrants.
- 3 months after Steven was wrongfully convicted/sentenced to death, 24 year old Marcus Rhodes took responsibility for knowingly and intentionally shooting and killing both of the murder victims, in a Denton County court.
- Rhodes didn't insinuate that Steven in any way, participated/plotted/played any role in the murders.
- There is NO physical evidence or confession that ties Steven Woods to the murder scene.
- No one has reported or testified to having eye-witnessed these murders.
- The murders were committed with Marcus Rhodes' own firearms. (Both registered under Rhodes' name)
- The firearms were found under Rhodes' bed when Police searched his parents' home.
- The weapons only had Rhodes' fingerprints on them.
- The victims' backpacks & their belongings were found in Rhodes' car a few days after the murders.
- The only "evidence" used against Woods were friends of Marcus Rhodes who took the stand, claiming that they heard Woods brag about the murder. This is called "hearsay" & is usually inadmissible in court.
- One "witness", a habitual heroin user & friend of Rhodes' was paid 1000 dollars for his testimony.
-Another "witness" signed a sworn affidavit stating that her testimony was coerced with threats.
-The state tried to use DNA found on a latex glove to convict Woods. The jury was told that the DNA on the glove was Woods', but later in the trial Steven demanded that the glove be tested. The DNA did NOT match Woods'. The glove was stricken from the protocol by Denton County Judge, Lee Gabriels - so that Woods could not use it to prove his innocence in his appeals process.
- The prosecution accused Woods of numerous erroneous claims to which they had no basis. Example: The prosecution lied to the jury claiming that Woods (who they did not know was of Armenian heritage), was a "white supremacist".
-The man who confessed to killing the couple, also confessed to carrying out an additional murder in CA that occurred 2 months prior to the Denton murders. Steven did not participate in that murder, nor did he witness it or get indicted in association with it.
-The actual murderer, Rhodes got a punishment of life in prison with parole.
-Steven Woods got sentenced to death and will be executed on Sept. 13 2011.
From now until September 13 2011, you will either be actively fighting injustice, or you will be actively ignoring it. I beg of you, please intervene to help save the life of Steven Woods before it is cut short.
Steven Woods' website with contact info for media is www.TexasKills.com .

Sincerely,
Ezekiel Rubottom

Excellent posting, it reflects my understand. I would add one point, speaking and thinking are very similar, a person cant hear with their mouth open. I have found that learning to suspend thought or at least expand the silence between each thought allow access to the Kindom of Heaven within and increases ones ability to "hear" the council of The Father.

Thanks Eugene. I did enjoy the blog and think it comes closer to the actual meaning of the scripture than most others you can find on the internet. I am blessed by what you say and find it to be true. On the other hand I think the subject is off topic. I do believe in praying all the time and being constantly spiritually minded but I don't believe doing that means we are putting the Kingdom of God first. The "American Gospel" is one of personal salvation so it is only natural for us to make every scripture about us and our relationship with God but the Kingdom of God is not about our personal relationship with God. God wants His Kingdom to be advanced in the Earth through the Church and its mission to preach the Gospel of the coming Kingdom to the entire world. Seeking His Kingdom first is giving up our lives for the brethren and using all our available resources to spread the true Gospel around the world. May God help us to see that. Blessings Brother.

Hi Paul Thanks for reading my blog. I am sorry that I am just getting back with you. I have had surgey and have not been working on my blog.
Paul the kingdom is not a place, but the kingdom is when you let God take over your life, when you let him rule in your life. What did Jesus mean when he spoke of the kingdom of God? He meant, quite simply, the rule of God. The kingdom of God is the reign of God.
This is best understood if it is distinguished from what Jesus did not mean. He was not speaking of a geographical area such as the Holy Land or the Temple. He was not speaking of a political entity such as the nation of Israel or the Sanhedrin. He was not speaking of a group of people such as His disciples or the church. Rather, the kingdom of God is God’s ruling. It is the sovereign reign of God. This rule is independent of all geographical areas or political entities. It is true that the rule of God implies a people to be ruled, and Jesus called upon people to enter the kingdom. The kingdom itself should be distinguished from the people who enter it.
Jesus taught that the kingdom of God looks unimpressive, but it is going to grow into something tremendous. The kingdom is like a tiny mustard seed which grows into a bush large enough to provide shelter for God’s creatures (Mark 4:30-32).

It's nice to read this - I've recently started 'seeking the Kingdom'.
However, I'm a little unclear: it says :
"seek ye first . . . . and all these things shall be added unto you". So does this mean that I don't need to find the Kingdom, just as long as I'm seeking it?. . . .
